Coldplay Review

A couple Thursdays ago, me and comrade Israel ventured out to San Diego's Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre to catch one of coldplay's last shows from their Viva la vida tour. Eight feet from g stage, for almost two & a half hours, I was in a state of awe and inspiration, that I will never forget.

Opening with the "life in technicolor" (first track off Viva La vida) with a huge black sheer curtain at front stage, casting huge silhouettes; each member set the stage for an unforgettable evening. Followed by "Violet Hill" and "In My place", the packed house knew ever word. For the next hour, it seemed like hit, after hit. From huge video spheres, a huge fifty foot LCD screen, to massive yellow balloons, and laser lights that had to be cleared with the air enforcement, my eyes were equally as pleased as my ears.

"Hardest Part" was one of my highlights of the set; much different from the full band arrangement on X&Y, consisted of just Christ Martin and Piano. I've never experienced such a nostalgic feeling from a song at a show, during the song everything from my first kiss to my first love flooded through my mind; and all i could think is how much I wanted a recording of it. to my pleasure, it was one of a nine track cd they gave to everyone later that night. (coldplay once again proved to be one of the smartest bands out there in the mainstream market. they realize record sales are down, what do they do? give 15,000 people , who just experienced an amazing show, after the steep ticket price, a FREE live full length album = loyal fans, who will tell everyone they know. genious.)

"Viva la vida" and "yellow" were also some of the main highlights of the evening, the energy from the stage streamed right into the crowd, as everyone sang a long to every word, and chant.
This was the first show in a long time, where the crowd sang a long to every word. You don't see this anymore in the States. For the first time in a while, i forgot about everything, and was completely emerged in something amazing for 2 hours. The expensive ticket price was well worth, and I highly reccomend everyone to see Coldplay at least once in your lifetime.

One Amazing Run

I've learned a lot this year, and have much to be thankful for. One amazing journey that has come to an end for me is: Western Front. For everyone who supported us at one of our shows, or picked up a copy of our killer ep, THANK YOU! Your support and encouragement our passion meant the world to us.
Currently, I am watching a recorded Coldplay concert thinking about the dreams I had for this band to take over the world of music, much like coldplay. Playing sold-out amphitheaters, selling millions of records, and giving the world something they have never heard before. I wanted the best for WesternFront, and each one of the guys involved. However, my priorities and vision has changed over the past couple months. After much thought and prayer, I have decided to pursue a solo path in music. I wish all the guys the best, and hold nothing against anyone. Each one of the guys have all the heart and passion in the world to accomplish their dreams and I know they will. To the guys: thank you for being patient with me, the long drives, the money spent, the hot practices in Michaels garage, the huge amounts of time and energy you all put in, I know each one of you made huge sacrifices for this band. Even though it was a short lived run, I look back on everything we experienced together and feel very thankful.
As for my direction; several doors, and opportunities have opened up for me and I have never been more excited about music in my life. Everynight I feel like a kid going to disneyland the next day and have a hard time falling asleep recently. I'm hitting the studio with some of my closest friends this month, and I couldn't be more blessed by them and their support. I'm gratefull for where I've been, but am more excited for where I'm headed.
album art concept? music makes me fly?

A first for everything

Everyone remembers their first kiss, first dance, first time driving, but i highly doubt i will remember my first blog ha. After months of reading the entertaining/inspiring blogs of jason mraz, today i decided to sign up for yet another online social networking site, another place to be distracted, another thing to feel obligated to login into everytime i get on a computer. (i hate computers)

Not quite sure where to start, but from reading others this will be a place for all my thoughts, and experiences. I continue to write a few lines about something, but continue to "backspace" everything i have written so far. I will figure this out, or maybe not. This summer has proven to a great start to yet, another chapter in my life, exciting opportunities, opening doors, and even closing ones. All my life ive wonderded if I'll ever figure everything out, life, love, music, etc.. recently I've realized I don't want to figure it out! everything is a constant evolving, journey, experience, song, and I never want to feel like I've arrived, figured it out, or know what lies infront of me. The unkown is exciting. I never want to predict where I'm going, only learn from where I've been.
